The synthetically rendered thighs and vagina exist between realism and organic abstraction. Primary System balances on the edge of literal depictions of sexuality and conceptual shorthand, expanding the theme of vitality beyond the human body.

The artist engages with the age-old theme of the world’s origin, present throughout art history — from Gustave Courbet’s L’Origine du monde to Constantin Brâncuși’s Le commencement du monde.
