The moth radiates an aura of mystery and elusiveness, simultaneously attracting and repelling, hovering on the threshold between dream and reality, corporeality and transformation. In folk beliefs, it was not only seen as an omen of death, but also as a warning against sinful temptations—a soul lured by the light, which may ultimately lead to ruin. Some tales spoke of witches who could take the form of a moth, slipping unnoticed into homes and crossing the boundaries between worlds. Much like a moth circling a flame, the sculpture draws the gaze, playing with what is hidden and revealed.

Karkoszka builds tension between physicality and ephemerality, between literalness and abstraction. It is not merely a record of bodily presence, but a reflection on instinct, on reaction to stimuli, on the ambiguity of form that shifts its meaning depending on one’s perspective.
